Blizzard Has Revealed The Plans For Diablo 4 With Season 9 and 10 and Further Expansion

Blizzard has officially pulled back the curtain on its Diablo 4 roadmap for 2025, outlining early plans for Seasons 9 and 10, reaffirming that the next major expansion is slated for 2026, and teasing several intriguing additions—including a few “new IP collabs” that hint at cross-universe content.

These upcoming crossovers, set to debut in Season 8 (Q2) and Season 10 (Q4), might initially raise eyebrows from fans worried that Diablo 4 could be sliding into Fortnite territory.

But Blizzard is quick to reassure players that these collaborations are being designed to “meld the Diablo universe with universes that complement its dark themes.” That said, they’re not yet ready to disclose exactly which other worlds are getting pulled into Sanctuary.

While much of Season 8, titled Belial’s Return, had already been previewed, Blizzard has now pulled back the curtain on what’s coming for the rest of the year. Season 9, Sins of the Horadrim, will take players back into Nightmare Dungeons, this time with enhanced mechanics.

Blizzard says players can expect “new activities and interactions that let you progress the dungeon’s intensity as you hunt down the barons of Hell.” Notably, Season 9 will also roll out keyboard and mouse support for consoles—an upgrade many players have been asking for.

Season 10, Infernal Chaos, shifts focus back to the Infernal Horde mode. Blizzard says, “Infernal Horde is becoming more chaotic as we put new choices into your hands,” and hints at expanded strategic options.

“Advanced options between Infernal Waves will arrive, too,” adding more depth to an already intense mode. Both Seasons 9 and 10 will also include earnable pets, giving players more cosmetic goals to grind for.

Alongside the seasonal updates, Blizzard is planning a series of “core system updates” aimed at improving the Battle Pass and Seasonal Journey systems. These updates are intended to make progression “more rewarding” and better aligned with player feedback.

The full 2025 roadmap graphic, which Blizzard has shared publicly, reinforces that the next Diablo 4 expansion won’t arrive until 2026.

Interestingly, the banner for next year includes a flame partially obscuring the word “new…” suggesting that Blizzard still has at least one major, unannounced addition planned—likely another reveal waiting in the wings.

Blizzard’s 2025 roadmap lays out a packed year of content, with enough mystery baked in to keep the community speculating until 2026 rolls around.
