As for GTA Online players, Take-Two has finally addressed its future once GTA 6 arrives. Analysts are speculating on a potential $100 price tag for GTA 6, while fans hope the rumored $80 Switch 2 games don’t beat Rockstar to the punch. Either way, GTA 6 is shaping up to be 2025’s biggest launch.
GTA 6 Release Window
The release window for GTA 6 has now been narrowed to Fall 2025. The initial trailer only mentioned “2025,” but a Take-Two financial report in May confirmed the fall target.
While that seemingly silences earlier claims from Kotaku that the game might slip into 2026, former Rockstar developer Obbe Vermeij noted the studio might not truly know if it can hit the date until around May.
He referenced how GTA 4 was delayed just four months before launch. Vermeij also added that GTA 6 is likely to sell for over a decade, calling out the lack of competition and saying Rockstar “won’t release the game until they’re 100% happy.”
Concerns about delays began swirling in early 2024 when Rockstar mandated a full return to office, five days a week—a move that drew pushback from devs. Still, unless we hear otherwise, Fall 2025 is the release window.
GTA 6 GameGTA 6 Trailer
The debut trailer for GTA 6 gave fans everything they wanted. Originally scheduled for December 5, 2024, it was released early after a leak forced Rockstar’s hand.
It confirmed the return to Vice City and introduced two new protagonists. While the trailer delivered plenty to get hyped about, fans are already begging for Trailer 2.
Rumors from GTA VI O’Clock hint the second trailer could drop sometime in early April, though nothing’s been confirmed. Hosts Daniel Dawkins and James Jarvis admitted they were only tipped off and couldn’t offer details. Rockstar remains quiet.

GTA 6 Platforms
GTA 6 will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025. That news came via an official press release from Take-Two, stating: “GTA 6 is coming to PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems in 2025.”
There’s no word yet on whether it will be PS5 Pro enhanced. Some experts speculate it may not hit 60fps, even with upgraded visuals.
As for PC, it’s not looking good. A Corsair executive seemed to leak a PC release in early 2026, but the company later walked it back, calling it “pure speculation.” Another former dev says Rockstar is focused on “what sells”—meaning consoles first.
GTA 6 is confirmed to skip PS4 and Xbox One entirely, making it a current-gen exclusive.
PC players? Don’t hold your breath. Former developers have echoed the sentiment that GTA 6 on PC could be a long way off. Until then, you can always revisit GTA 5 and its stellar five-star experience.
