Riot Games has officially revealed the title of its upcoming tradable card game: Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game.
Riftbound takes place in Runeterra, the iconic universe that serves as the backdrop for League of Legends, Arcane, and several of Riot’s other tabletop titles.
The game is set to debut with a launch set featuring more than 300 cards under the subtitle Origins. According to a press release from Riot, the initial launch will take place over the summer in China, followed by a release in “many English-speaking countries in October 25.”
Riftbound supports multiple formats including 1v1, 2v2, and free-for-all multiplayer modes. Like the digital card game Legends of Runeterra, Riftbound will feature champions as powerful cards. Players will be able to build decks centered around a champion, supported by additional themed cards.
Among the first wave of Champion Decks — pre-constructed 56-card sets — we can expect builds focused on Viktor, Jinx, and Lee Sin. Other champions set to appear include Annie, Garen, Lux, Master Yi, Volibear, Yasuo, and more.

Additional card types will feature familiar elements from the franchise, such as in-game items, runes, and spells. Riot’s official website has also showcased artwork for fan-favorite champions Kai’Sa and Ahri.
Players will have the option to pick up a boxed set titled Riftbound: Proving Grounds, which includes a selection of starter decks, or opt for traditional 14-card booster packs.
Riot is collaborating with UVS Games — a trusted name in the trading card game industry — to ensure Riftbound makes its way into local game stores.
If your local shop already stocks the UniVersus Collectible Card Game — which features franchises such as Attack on Titan, Critical Role, and other major fandoms — there’s a strong likelihood Riftbound will be available there too.
While we await the rollout of the initial set throughout 2025, Riot will continue sharing news and updates on Riftbound across its social media platforms
