Fortnite Updates Keep Coming Thick And Fast Daily
The popular online game Fortnite has been undergoing constant changes, with new updates arriving every now and then. The game’s update schedule can be quite tricky to stay on top of, but if you’re looking to plan around the updates, it’s essential to know when the game’s going offline. Recently, the game has expanded to include new modes such as Festival, Lego, and Rocket Racing, which has led to an increase in updates.
The update release dates have changed a bit, with the last season getting a bit off-track. However, typically, it’s only ever a few days or two before we see another update arrive. This is how Epic’s update schedule works, and the answer to when is the next Fortnite update is usually a straightforward one. We’re expecting the next Fortnite update to arrive very soon, on Thursday, May 8th. This will be a pretty big patch, but Galactic Battle will have different updates from the normal schedule.
As a new season has just begun, this time it’s another Mini-season, which means it’ll only last for a handful of weeks. Just like with Fortnite remix, this will make it a bit easier to know when is the next Fortnite update. Epic has announced the entire update schedule for the next month, and we know exactly when each update will be, and what the changes to the game will be. The next Fortnite update will have quite a few changes for the game, including a new Lightsaber, force power, and character. Mace Windu will be added into the game as a new addition. He’ll be a training character you go to when getting a lightsaber. Players will also be able to use the Force Pull power, which we’ve seen in past updates.
On the dark side of things, Darth Maul will also be available; they’ll have a Force Throw power which lets you launch things at other players. There are some extra Fortnite NPC locations being added this week too. We’ll get Luke, Leia, and Han Solo on the map as NPCs you can interact with. The next Fortnite update after May 8th will be the Chewbacca update, coming on May 15th. It brings Chewbacca into the game along with his Wookie Bowcaster like we saw last year. A new shotgun blaster is also due to be added to the game.
The update schedule for the next few weeks is as follows: on May 22nd, a new Mandalorian set of characters will come to the game. These will be available in all the normal forms, a heavy, a scout, a supply, and medic. Each will have a slightly different design. There will also be the Mandalorian Sniper rifle returning to the game, and a new blaster. For one of the final Fortnite updates of the season, there is Star Destroyer Bombardment. This is similar to the boss transformations we’ve had in some past seasons. Each game, you’ll be able to find a portal which lets you take control over a Star Destroyer. A powerful ship which will let you bombard players on the surface of the map.
The final Fortnite update of the mini-season comes on June 7th, which will be a live event that will see the end of the season out. We don’t expect too many gameplay changes here, since it’ll move us into the next Fortnite season. After that, update timings aren’t known again! Typically, the next Fortnite update usually arrives at the same pace, on Tuesdays. At least during the opening part of the season, most Tuesdays see an update hit. In terms of more substantial patches, they’re typically on a bi-weekly basis. But Epic seems to be alternating between dropping bigger updates and smaller patches. Every other Tuesday we get something added to the game.
However, there are a few times when the game does change its pace. Since Chapter 5 launched, the game has had a few delays. The update day often fell on a Wednesday for the first season or so. For the most part, the next update usually comes on a Tuesday though, at least when Epic is up to date on their release schedule. This season it’s Thursdays too. The other major change to updates comes with Epic’s twice-a-year breaks. This will mean we won’t get a new Fortnite update for a few weeks. But a solitary couple of weeks once or twice a year still makes Fortnite one of the most actively updated games.
The game has two breaks where we don’t see any Fortnite updates! There’s a Christmas break and a summer one. In these times, we get events in-game to keep players busy. There are no new updates in this period though. We typically get the summer break during August. The Winter break comes over Christmas and New Years Eve. During this period, we won’t get any new Fortnite updates. However, with the events added the day the break starts, there is plenty to do.
Lego Fortnite has been pretty popular since it launched, even driving a new high for the Fortnite player base. The game hasn’t been as actively supported as Fortnite Battle Royale though. This game only gets intermittent updates, and doesn’t have a clear schedule. Although, it gets at least one substantial new content drop a season. We’ve just had the most recent Lego Fortnite update. These typically arrive alongside a Battle Royale update though. We’ve only just had a substantial update to Lego Fortnite, so we don’t expect another for a little while still.
Its content will be actually coming into the game over the next weeks though, rather than all at once. Rocket Racing and Fortnite Festival are two other game modes that also have different update schedules. Rocket Racing doesn’t have seasons or updates anymore, so the answer to the next update here is probably never. Fortnite Festival, on the other hand, is a bit different. It has Festival Passes which run on its own schedule. These have been arriving every two months. New tracks, on the other hand, are cycled in daily! This is a rotation for songs in use, and we get updates on Tuesday like the other modes to expand the overall pool of songs. The next Festival season will start in the next Fortnite season, then we’ll have quite a while to wait for the next one.
