The North Dakota State University (NDSU) women’s golf team wrapped up its fall season with a strong performance at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, held at Kapolei Golf Club in Hawaii. Competing against a competitive field of 15 teams, the Bison managed to secure a solid seventh-place finish. The tournament provided a valuable opportunity for the team to demonstrate their skills and highlight individual performances that contributed to the team’s general results.
The Bison’s collective efforts resulted in a three-round total of 869, with scores of 295, 288, and 286. Despite facing tough competition, the team showcased resilience and determination, securing their mid-pack finish in the event. Their performance at the Invitational serves as a testament to the development of the team and the potential for future success in upcoming competitions.
Impressive Individual Performances
Several standout performances marked the individual efforts of the NDSU women’s golf team during the tournament.
Norah Roberts Shines in Final Round
Norah Roberts had an impressive showing, making a significant move up the leaderboard by improving 11 spots to finish tied for 14th place. She delivered an outstanding final round, carding a career-low score of 68, which featured six birdies. This exceptional performance contributed to her general total score of 213 (73-72-68), an impressive achievement that underscores her skill and consistency throughout the tournament.
Avery Bartels’ Strong Finish
Avery Bartels also contributed significantly to the team’s success, finishing tied for 20th place with a general score of 215 (73-72-70). Bartels recorded a season-low round of 70 in the final round, which included two birdies and an eagle, showcasing her ability to perform under pressure. Her strong finish provided valuable points for the team and demonstrated her growth as a key player for NDSU.

Additional Contributions from Other Players
Other members of the team also posted solid results, with notable performances from Hannah Dunk and Elise Hoven. Dunk finished tied for 32nd place with a 54-hole season-low total of 219 (76-69-74), while Hoven achieved a season-best score of 222 (73-75-74), placing her tied for 42nd.
Madi Hicks rounded out the team’s scoring with a total of 228 (78-75-75), finishing tied for 62nd place. Cora Larson and Anna Huettl also made their mark, with Larson finishing tied for 58th (227), and Huettl tied for 62nd (228). Competing as individuals, Lily Vincelli (77-76-80–233) and Jo Baranczyk (79-81-79–239) placed tied for 77th and 87th, respectively.

The team is set to return to action at the Mountain Classic Matchplay, scheduled for February 9-11 in Palm Desert, California.
